Audrey has been part of our lives since we moved to the area over 20 years ago and ‘inherited’ the art group that used our barn for their weekly meet ups. She quickly became a friend and my gardening buddy. As our girls grew, Audrey became more involved in their lives too, as 11+ tutor, piano teacher, maths teacher (teaching the traditional techniques!), French teacher and more latterly for Jess, her sewing buddy inspiring Jessie’s passion for dressmaking that she continues to this day. I caught that bug too and more recently got into patchworking under Audrey’s guidance for dealing with multiple layers and how to mitre corners. Throughout this time, we got to know Audrey well. Such a fiercely independent woman, who knew her own mind, her love of books and music and such pride in her family, especially her grandchildren’s achievements.
Audrey was an amazing woman and honoured that she was part of our lives. We will miss her.
